Our Projects > Uzbekistan: Existing, Multi-Site Gold Mining Operation
Uzbekistan, home of the fabled cities of Tashkent, Samarkand and Bukhara, has, like many of the former Soviet Republics, experienced a level of international investor interest in its mining and other resources. One such instance was a gold mining operation, not far from the city of Tashkent, which was the subject of interest of a large, western mining house.
To appraise this facility, US based international multidisciplinary engineering consultants were appointed. They in turn, appointed Lord Consulting Engineers as specialist electrical engineering consultants.
Our brief included:
- Technical appraisal of the existing electrical infrastructure supplying the various, separate mining and process locations that formed the operation
- Technical appraisal of the existing electrical infrastructure within each of the separate mining and process locations
- Conceptual design of required electrical infrastructure, reinforcement, modification and refurbishment to support the proposed expansion
- Preparation of preliminary estimates of capital and operating costs for the proposed expanded operation.
